What's Blooming

June 17, 2021

Ohio spiderwort (Tradescantia ohiensis) is currently in bloom in many of Clear Lake Township Land Conservancy’s preserves. It can be seen in the prairie at Spangler Grove, along the trail in Brennan Woods and in the landscaped beds at Kasota Island. Ohio spiderwort’s blue-purple blooms are made up of just three petals making for a unique and attractive native flower. Spiderwort is also an important pollinator plant that attracts a large number of native bees. Enjoy a shady walk through Brennan Woods as the Ohio Spiderwort blooms throughout June and July.
