Prescribed Fire Today at Spangler Grove

If weather permits, Blue Heron will conduct a prescribed fire at Spangler Grove today, Monday, February 19 around 1 PM. This property is burned annually to help control the understory brush and reduce the leaf litter layer. This encourages the natural regeneration of our native plants! The fire has been permitted through the Department of Environmental Management. The local Fire Department and Police Department are aware.
