Lulu-Sorenson Transmission Project

Indiana-Michigan Power and AEP Transmission seeks to install approximately 75 miles of 765-kilovolt (kV) transmission line from southern Fort Wayne to northeast Indiana. This project is mandated by Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) as part of their Long Range Transmission Plan. This project has been approved, and the company is in the stage of determining final installation locations. 
Once the route is identified, the company will work with landowners to purchase voluntary easements or acquire through eminent domain.
Multiple proposed routes affecting Clear Lake are being investigated, shown on the map below. Both exit routes, segments 9 and 39, appear to be roughly 1-mile away from Clear Lake. A link for the larger map is available below.
The Conservancy is urging AEP to understand our unique environment to ultimately locate the least intrusive route for our lake, our community, and our landowners.
How can you help? AEP is seeking feedback from landowners on and around these proposed routes. The deadline for feedback is Friday, October 9th, and it must be sent directly to AEP through email or direct mail.
