30 Years of LOVE at Clear Lake

February 14, 2021

We continue to celebrate our 30th Anniversary with LOVE in the air this month. The Conservancy blows a kiss to all the lovebirds that have come together here in the Clear Lake Township. Did you know that our very own Kasota Island Nature Preserve has been the site of many weddings, wedding photo stops, and even proposals? In all its splendor, what’s not to love about our beautiful Clear Lake!

In fact, our very own Program Assistant, Tracy (McArdle) Hughes, met her husband, Chris Hughes, here at Clear Lake. Both having grown up spending summers at the lake, it all began with a friendship at Ski Club during their middle school years. From there, Chris and Tracy chased each other around the lake for over a decade on yellow jet skis, Ski Nautiques, bikes, and roller blades while stopping for some down time at Kasota Island. Two decades of friendship, turned love later, they have now covered every square mile of our Township be it on paddle boards, pontoons, hikes, golf carts, or even the yellow airplane (Thanks Bill Geiger!).

So this month, here’s a shout out to all the Clear Lake Township lovebirds! We are a special place because the relationships formed here at Clear Lake last a lifetime. The Conservancy is honored to protect this extraordinary place, so loved by so many.

Tell us your Clear Lake LOVE story. Email info@clearlakeconservancy.org (100 words or less) and share a photo! We'd love to showcase 30 Clear Lake Township love stories!

Happy Valentine's Day,

Tracy Hughes
Program Assistant
